Well UT2k4 "always" had a native Linux build; I believe it was just not added to the official DVDs during release...
(I've had the Linux build on old HDDs somewhere for years...)
Owner of the 6-CD physical copy here. The installer is on CD1, and I guess it's on the DVD as well. It uses the fugly old installer (liflg I guess) which needs ancient versions of certain libraries in order to work. Can't remember which ones, though.

I do remember using another tool to generate a .deb package a long time ago, but I can't remember the name.
