Marathon from Bungie is out March 5th - likely unplayable on SteamOS Linux

Maybe the better answer is that clearly, management don't have the ability to recognize "talent" in general, so don't be surprised if the talented people happen to be "made redundant" or "replaced by AI" or who knows.

Quoting: StrapinskiHmmm... Concord? That's not a joke, that was a rather expensive project made with former Bungie devs.Quoting: JarmerNobody from the Bungie glory days are still around. The suits are running the show, and when this doesn't get instahit status, which it won't, they'll shut it down.Do you know where they went? I really played the game a lot and I still like many aspects of it. But over the last few years, you could just tell how little art, story, etc., mattered anymore. It became all about grabbing cash. But I’d at least be interested in seeing what the talented people who used to be at Bungie have put together now.
Nothing to see here, just a shambling corpse. Safe to move on.

Quoting: Liam DaweThat's right, exactly why we're here, exactly why we appreciate this site, (besides your coverage of RTS of course).Quoting: pbWhat an odd piece of information to publish on GamingOnLinux. What's odd about it? It's an article informing readers about a title that could be the next big popular multiplayer game, and how it will likely not work. This is pretty standard stuff for us.
Quoting: eggroleWasn't this game the one where they literally stole art? Not even AI bullcrap, but flat out stole it?Yeah Bungie, the studio which is already in trouble anyway, because the last demo of Marathon went so bad and they know it, Bungie, some of whose former members made a little offshoot studio called Firewalk and a little game called Concord. At this point, how damn good Marathon has to be, not to be ridiculed into oblivion...
I don't know all the details about how it ended up, but I'd imagine the anti-AI crowd here would be *way* more upset of outright theft of art.

Has the term "RTS" become so taboo at this point, that we have to designate this game as "a MOBA where you lead an army of soldiers" instead?

OMG you guys are presenting such an enticing picture of this game that I almost forgot that on top of all that the thing is freaking 70$ for a product that apparently doesn't even run properly in lots of computers.

I'd say that the golden age already returned with Tempest Rising.
There are some who weren't satisfied with Tempest Rising, to them Dying Breed won't be good enough either.

Liam we don't have time to finish Cyberpunk, it's years after release, we must accept it at this point.

Quoting: TcheyPlaying it since forever, but... For me, the worst part of this game is to not have BAR (Beyond All Reason) formation tools, and the lack of proper collision between troops, bodies, etc... I HATE seeing my troops in melee all mixed together. Can't believe that in 2025, the problem of an RTS is that it isn't more like BAR.
