Quoting: Liam DaweAgain, it's my job to inform people about gaming on Linux. That is why we exist. That includes times where a potentially massive game will not work.

And it's very much appreciated, thank you! Genuinely needed that reminder because I forgot how hostile Bungie is and still continues to be towards Linux.

Discord screen-sharing with audio on Linux Wayland is officially here

It’s worth noting that screensharing is still limited to software encoded x264 (not hardware acellerated). For some this means slightly less smooth screenshare compared to Windows, and others, a total slideshow.

But small steps! Audio is definitely a huge one thankfully

The Epic version on Wine/Proton was rough. Launching the app opened a game selector that closed immediately, then failed to run the chosen game's exe directly. It never worked well, requiring manual workarounds that required people to fork the launch command and direct it to the specific game executable they wanted to play at the time. Hopefully Steam's release is better, but it's Square, so I expect this to be a complete money grab with very minimal effort on their part to integrate nicely within the Steam ecosystem, expecting us all to forget how hostile they were to the steam platform in the first place.

Thank you for reporting on this, Liam. I haven't been keeping up with the Enigma DRM situation as much as I'd prefer, but I'm pleased to learn that Capcom is listening the Steam Deck community, as vocal as we have to be when things like this happen. Nevertheless, it's disheartening to hear about Enigma being retroactively added to their older catalogue.

Quoting: KerrWasHereUpdate broke most of Decky and the apps installed inside of it as well
Decky is working fine for me with the Decky prerelease update channel. Also you may need to do a second full reboot of the steam deck after the steam update like I did. But should work after that.

It's awesome to see the devs go cross-platform right from the get-go. Usually, slapping on extra platform support afterward ends up feeling tacked on and tends to stay that way. Kudos to the team for not dropping the ball like that, which I guess is thanks to them having enough resources to do things right.
