Steam Machine verification will have "fewer constraints" than Steam Deck - but text sizing worries me

The Steam Machine is a desktop computer. Why does it need full controller support? Why does it require an on-screen keyboard? Why do launchers need to be navigable with a controller?
Those make sense for Steam Deck because it's a handheld console with a built-in controller, and is not expected to be used with a mouse or keyboard. But for an ordinary desktop computer, which the Steam Machine is, all those conditions can be dropped.

Display I imagine is the only one that would actually be relaxed, since we're talking about all sorts of resolutions since the Steam Machine is just a mini PC with SteamOS Linux on it. Input, Seamlessness and System Support cannot be relaxed in any way or the whole system would be a bit pointless. Why?

Still not as horrendous as the "indie" category. Looking at the nominees, we have
* A game published by DotEmu, as subsidiary of Focus Entertainment, who according to their Wikipedia page has an annual revenue of 140 million euros.
* A game published by Devolver Digital, a publicly traded corporation owned partly by Sony and Netease
* A game published by Raw Fury, a subsidiary of a giant private equity firm.
* Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which seems to actually be owned by a medium-sized company.
* Hades II, also seemingly owned by a medium-sized company
* Hollow Knight: Silksong, an indie game
So at most half of the nominees for "best indie game" are actually indie games.

I only play indie games, so of the brands mentioned in the article the one that concerns me is RPGMaker. What are the odds they drop Linux support from future versions? What about the possibility of making the monitazation worse and discouraging new devs? Could they try to do what Unity briefly considered doing and demand more money from devs who have released games in the past?

Is it going to be pro-slavery? Is it going to be pro-drug-assisted-sexual-assault? Is it going to have you checking the genitals of girls to make sure they are the right kind of girl?
Clearly not much of a Harry Potter rip-off if it doesn't have any of that.
The trailer actually looks pretty good. Maybe I'll try the demo later.

Valve still waiting on a 'generational leap' for Steam Deck 2 - but it's coming

As to the main topic, I'm quite curious as to whether they go with ARM for the Deck 2.

Quoting: eldakingThis depends a lot on what clothes you wear. I have some cargo pants where the pockets could fill a small laptop, but if you wear women's clothing then it is never happening.I recall many years ago (2017-2018ish?) someone on r/transgamers posted a screenshot of a skirt with pockets big enough to fit a Switch. Most of the comments were something along the lines of "That's going to be really really uncomfortable to walk in."

Quoting: Linux_RocksMan, you can tell that Intel is in trouble if this is happening. This is like Microsoft with Xbox and them trying to act all friendly towards other platforms. If Intel was beating AMD hand over fist again or if Xbox was doing good still. None of this would be happening and they'd be saying fuck off to everyone else. lolI think it's less about Intel beating or not beating AMD: in sales for new laptops running Windows, Intel is still winning by a lot. I think it's about Intel fearing ARM.
