Get ready for another adventure with The Darkside Detective: Backside of the Moon

Nice, I very much enjoyed the first two Darkside Detective games so will certainly play this one upon release. Decent puzzles with amusing dialogue mixed in.

I also note the first game is currently free to claim on Epic Games.

Raspberry Pi prices are rising due to RAM costs, plus a new 1GB Raspberry Pi 5 now available
1 Dec 2025 at 4:40 pm UTC

I can see that the market prices are rising which is bad for consumers but on the other hand I just checked what I paid in 2016 for my stick of 16GB DDR4 2400 MT/s and it was £66 then or equivalent to £92 in today's money accounting for inflation. Even with the price hikes DDR4 is still cheaper now than 2016. Sure if I was building today I'd rather buy DDR5, but I'm not building today as I'm still very happy with my current rig so DDR4 can't be that bad.

Maybe if the AI hype crash happens prices will plummet.

The Programming Games Humble Bundle is another sweet deal worth grabbing

A brilliant bundle, I'd buy it if I didn't already own them! My favorite programming puzzle game is Shenzhen I/O and that was my first introduction to Zachtronics' games and it was a delight to discover that developer. If you like coding and puzzles they're the best. Human Resource Machine and 7 Billion Humans also great with a good music score I thought, sometimes I've put their music on in the background whilst I do real programming work

The big hit medieval strategy game Manor Lords works well on Linux
29 Apr 2024 at 6:30 pm UTC

Reminds me of the game Medieval Lords [External Link] that I played as a kid. Both the concept and the name are quite similar! Manor Lords looks like its quite a bit more sophisticated though. Reckon I'll try it out once its released from early access.

Amazon Games support is coming soon to Heroic Games Launcher

It really is a great addition working well. I tried an appimage built on that pull request a few days ago and no problems viewing my Amazon games library and installing a game to play. Heroic goes from strength to strength.

State of the industry: MSI offered a chance to win the ability to buy a GPU

Hopefully with Intel entering the discrete GPU market as a 3rd major player the increased competition will push prices down. Though I reckon it will take at least a couple of years for Intel to really establish themselves in the space.
