Goverlay for managing tools like MangoHud gets a major new release and it's finally on Flathub

I wonder if there is a way in goverlay to not save the configuration on every change to make it easier to try out other modes without zapping the current config. Maybe I'm missing something obvious.

Augmented Steam browser plugin added AI features from VaporLens

Quoting: scaine
Quoting: zerodoggI switched to the SteamDB extension instead of Augmented Steam when this was first pushed out. It works great.
This looks superb, and I'll likely do the same. But one feature I'll miss is the big banner that Augmented Steam puts across any game that has Denuvo. I also like the pop-up that overlays the entire game page if it uses AI.
Agreed. Denuvo is an instant no-buy and I appreciate its visibility.

I've disabled AI in Augmented Steam for now but if SteamDB gets parity I'll switch to that in a heartbeat.

Fedora Linux 43 has officially arrived

Aye okay. Ignore all the perfectly valid reasons that many, many people have for despising AI.
I think ssj17vegeta was being practical. It goes without saying that folks are using AI to develop open source that is landing in Linux distributions. That is just a fact.

I don't think you're going to get away from AI in Linux until someone forks a distribution to explicitly remove any AI contributions. Good luck identifying them all.

FWIW I'm not a big fan of AI either. I write enough lousy code myself. I don't need AI piling on.

Fedora Linux 43 has officially arrived

I'm a bit meh when it comes to Fedora officially accepting AI because a large number of (probably most) packages are pulled in directly from upstream. So while other distributions may not have a policy on AI one way or the other, if upstream is using AI they will have little to no say unless they want to re-create everything themselves, or start cherry-picking and rewriting patches without AI.

Denuvo has been removed from Dead Island 2

That's great news. The EPIC game store gave it away for free recently. I wonder if they'll do that again.

KDE's 29th anniversary is here and they need your funding

Just donated. My first open source patch was a fix for KDE 1.0. Been participating in open source ever since.

Pick up some goodies from Remedy like Alan Wake and Control in this Humble Bundle

Does Max Payne even work in Windows these days? I don't think it does without some major fiddling.

Go on the hunt for a simple pilsner in a world full of craft beer in Dude, Where Is My Beer? A New Hop
13 Aug 2025 at 12:48 pm UTC Likes: 7

I live this game weekly. A local shop has tons of beer choices from all the lousy American brands, a bunch of imports and a whole lot of microbrew IPAs, each of which seems to be competing to be the most hoppy and hazy. I think they carry only three Pilsners, one of which for unknown reasons is brewed with lime. I keep hunting for new ones.

I'll definitely give the demo a go.

Fedora Linux devs discuss dropping 32-bit packages - potentially bad news for Steam gamers

This isn't only about Steam.

I have several (many?) non-Steam Linux-native games that are 32-bit only. Some from early Humble Bundles, others purchased retail. They still work for now on Fedora.

Civilization VII version 1.2 will let you play forever, adds "Teams Multiplayer" and more major changes

It's been a while since I played Civ but wasn't "Just One More Turn…"a feature in at least 4 or 5?
