Ubuntu Installfest
Ubuntu 10.04.1 is scheduled for release on August 12, 2010. The following Saturday LSNet will host an Installfest where users can try out and install the latest version.
Checkout the alternative to Windows and Mac OS
Bring your machine or laptop. You can try out Ubuntu with a “live CD” that makes no changes to your hard disk. If you decide to install, we can help you set up a dual boot (whatever you are currently using + Ubuntu) or a Wubi install which installs inside Microsoft Windows. We rarely crash a working system but you should, of course, backup all your personal data (buy an external hard disk).
Doors open at 10:00 AM. No install will begin after 11:00 AM. Even though we will be installing the latest version, we need enough time to perform all the updates and solve installation problems
Coffee, doughnuts and some sort of light grub will be provided.
The event and all materials are free (even the doughnuts).
